Description
I woke up yesterday morning and wandered across the house to my office where I found the hubby sitting on the floor with my computer opened up.
Me: "What are you doing?"
Him: "You weren't supposed to be up yet!"
Me: "Ok. What are you doing?"
Him: "Well, actually, this was supposed to be finished by now."
Me: "Ok. What are you doing?"
What was he doing? He was upgrading my computer for me for Christmas. I've been desperately wanting to get back into my 3D work after taking 5 years off. However, 3D software & products have evolved quite a bit in the past 5 years. My computer, on the other hand, hasn't. Everytime I would try to render something other than a simple one-character scene, it would lock up. Finally, I just stopped trying anymore. :(
So, yesterday, he installed a brand new mother board, faster processor, twice as much memory as I had before AND a bad-ass new graphics card that's all pimped out for 3D work. Woot-woot! :D
Last night, I started tinkering with an image I made around Halloween that I wasn't able to render and my computer was all "BAM! There ya' go!". So, I finally got my "Little Lost Doll" rendered last night and she is now sitting on my computer's desktop making me beam with happiness every time I see her. Here's my lost little Trick-or-Treater... a few months & 2 holidays late! lol!
Sometimes, it really rocks being married to a computer nerd! lol! ;)
Now it's time to get back into the swing of things! I've missed a LOT in 5 years! :P
