Description
This is Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province, in the middle of China, and the middle of coal country. The people are honestly, universally, utterly oblivious to the trash, litter, waste, garbage, detritus, refuse, and jetsam surrounding them.
As appalling as this common scene is, it's not as heartbreaking as seeing the mountain trails and lakesides absolutely festooned with cig packs, candy wrappers, and toilet paper. And the price of progress is that the indestructible plastic trash dropped today will despoil the countryside for generations.
It's good to be here in California!

thats disgusting...but I think its a universal issue at the moment, some places just worse than others... Where I live the city centre looks pretty similar, which is why I never venture down there anymore... Great capture BTW
