Greasy kid stuff with lanolin won't hold down the spikes and roostertails of my hayseed upbringing. Even butch wax on the formidable heights would slowly erode. Eventually conditioner tamed the woodchips. I left teh barber shop nearly 25 years ago to cut my own hair so I could "check my six" at anytime and avoid the synchronization at the corner that is the dunning host of old spys. Here the lulling hum of clippers ends and the whisk brush seeks out the stiff cut ends to drive them deeper into the collar. The dab works betterafter a shampoo. I needed to move deeper into the barber shop before walking out fully versed with shoeshine also.
