I love the sense of spce here, especially after the small spaces that came before! I have the same thought as Gog--what comes next?

Very dramatic and surreal as always Kees. Your treatment of the added light is majestic. . .and fun, it would be easy to get carried away and add 50 candles. ;-))

In my humble opinion, it is not the best (but you stay among the best of this site, no doubt) The labyrinth was fascinating, But as the being was already wandering in a maze of corridors, tunnels and rooms evoking those of an ancient factory, this labyrinth was at the same moment the necessary symbolization of a latent meaning and a redundant characterization of this one; the maze emphasizes what appears obviously to be an old factorys labyrinth. However, it was absolutely justified, and represented a stage in the discovery of the mystery On the other hand, the amphitheatre, gives me the impression that you use two stereotypes which should not be so close to each other. Too much symbolic density weakens the sensation of mystery. However, I suppose to understand what you are meaning (or perhaps the meaning which expresses itself through you). The maze symbolizes the complexity of the mind in its total isolation, whereas the amphitheatre suggests the presence of the others, even if they are absent, and maybe definitively. The two parallel walls suggest that the being has exit the maze where reign a solitude of shadows and walls but (s)he is now facing an amphitheater: discovering another solitude in which there are openings, like entries of rooms or corridors but in which there is nothing else to see than darkness. There is a subtle transition from a closed absence to the same absence with openings. But there is nothing in these openings. The others are all vanished a long time ago, if they ever existed. No voice rises from the circular floors to call to the being. There is only the silence. The being seems to be waiting a sentence, but there is nobody to express it. Alter-egos are maybe going to appear

I emitted a squeal of glee when I got the e-bot notification of this. I've been waiting quite a while for a new Discovery image -- this one doesn't dissappoint. I'm still curious as to where this all is going . . . have there been any clues yet in this image or the others in the series? I feel like I may be missing something.

I agree with Esprit Negatif- though I loved some of the earlier scenes I believe that the series is all played out now. How about "discovering" something fresh? Increasingly, what comes to mind is dodgy prog rock LPs, I'm afraid.

This series of work is absolutely stunning in design and nature. The starkness of these pieces the way you use so little but your lighting and matting add so much. Truely these deserve to be called nothing less then Master Pieces. Outstanding works of art
