Description

This pretty Red Cardinal was sitting in such a pretty light I had to take his picture. I'm seeing more and more how important light is in this photography stuff, so I've been paying more attention to it, and using it to my advantage when the opportunity may arise. It is a stunning pose and good frontal capture. The color came out very well. The lighting is indeed very important and well illustrated.

Saw one of these in Somerset, England a couple of years ago; innocently asked a question about it on a bird-watching website as I didn't recognise it....next thing I knew, we were invaded by TV cameras and bird-watchers, did a magazine interview...turned out it was the first time one of these had EVER been seen in the UK, and, I think, Europe! Beautiful photo of a beautiful bird!

Beautiful.... That pose couldn't of been better... Love his bright color... I tried to get a pic of a cardinal in dead tree limbs the other day... Little guy just wouldn't hold still....I thought his color and the color of the limbs would be a great shot... But not meant to be for me.. Love this a fav.... Hugs Susan~
