Description

Fingers gently tickle the palm... I hear you in the breath of your whisper I see you in the touch of your skin Fingers trembled as silent tears fell... Because of you I have a voice Because of you I can say I love you ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wrote as a comment to a poem using 3 haiku's with the same title http://allpoetry.com/poem/2380453. My friend encouraged me to post this as a poem in it's own right using the same title. I put the title in quotes as they are my friends Jo's voice. As I responded thought how Helen Keller might speak to Anne Sullivan right before she died. As a young girl I was deeply and profoundly touched by these two woman, reading everything about them that I could get my hands on. The more I read the more I realized it was as much overcoming their handicaps as it was their strength and fortitude as woman that affected me. I do hope that you take the time to read Jo's poem, she has such extrodinary talent, and she's a Jersey girl :). Unfortunately, the image I created I can't use here because even though the photo is from a free site it's not mine. But if ever I put words and pictures together it was this one. If you would like to take a gander please feel free http://allpoetry.com/poem/2422345 Have a wonderful weekend! Michelle

This is pithy and profound work .. such economy of words and opulence of meaning, well worthy of the subject. Excellent, my dear Michelle! Mike

Very glad that you were encouraged. The words are perfect and even though few, they speak volumes. Bravo!

Am also an admirer of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. Their life together and hardships faced and overcome is an inspiration to everyone. Wondeful poem posted as a comment on Jo's Haiku. Did you follow Jo's suggestion to submit your poem for the contest too? Anyway, excellent piece and a wonderful tribute. Big thumbs up and hugs from Dave :^)
