OK!OK!!! I know "Vishnu" is also the name of a MALE god! I LIKE the name Vishnu and wanted to call her that. This pic has NOTHING to do with the gods of India or anywhere else. PLEASE just view her for the six armed being she is and NOT a god or goddes improperly named.

Nice image, but Vishnu is a God, not a Goddess, with the weapons this would make a good attempt at Durga, the Battle-Goddess.

Allen is totally on, this has little resemblance to Vishnu. Follow the link below to learn a bit about Vishnu, then go and explore. Hinduism is incredibly complex and beautiful, and open to wide interpretation. Although I've never seen Vishnu featured with 6 arms, you did a wonderful job working in all the shoulders. This piece could, with a significant amount of work, bear a closer resemblance to Durga or perhaps even Kali. http://www.hindunet.org/god/Gods/vishnu/

Vishnu is a God, and I think you were trying to make Shiva anyways.

Well a six armed woman by any other name would look as sweet, and this one certainly does. The name is just a name, not a statement. Geesh. Excellent work on the compositing and colors...

Good friggin grief Allen9; stevey32; and adam_v, are you people blind? This lady already said in her prologue above, (if you'd open your eyes, or bother to read what people write about their image) that this beautiful render had squat to do with gods, goddesses or dumb people who can't read. Pay no attention to those first 3 obviously blind little mice - this is one fantastic and beautiful render DM59. I think it's one of your very best to date, and full of exciting color and details. You've done a wonderful job on the 6 arms, 2 bound to the wings, 2 holding swords, and the lower 2 handling lights. The swirling background is a magnificent touch, as is the far background sunset. She sure looks regal and I love the name no matter who others try to associate it with. Great job - highly commendable!
