Description

Depending on where the lava is, it takes about an hour or two to hike there. The longest time we spent on the lava field was 12 hours under the sun and heat. Nights are much cooler in every way. Will follow this lava ooze out and watch it spread a little. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

The glow of the lava is more dramatic in your night photos too! I like how the fresh ooze kinda glows through "ribs" in the partially cooled cover. :)

you have lots of patience to stay there that long. I would imagine that the sulfur smell is quite bad. excellent capture

1 -2 hrs to get up there...heavy work out, but I am sure much more fun then a gym session! If I watch this lava long enough actually I can see it flowing. (I know it is silly but it really does it.)

The face looking back at me from this one seems all to eager to spread over my toes and feed and gobble me whole. The moral of the story? Be nice to madam Pele... Aloha!
