Description

This is from my 5th photo study of the Fentress & Bradburn designed 1999 Building in Denver shot last May. The title is the result of a friend pointing out "Look, there is an Angel in the Sky!" Funny I never noticed that before :) I think next I'll upload some pics from session #6 that utilizes my Canon, which has a deeper color dynamic range. This angle really shows how the architects literally "wrapped" this 43 story structure around the airspace of the Holy Ghost Church. The 1999 building btw, was completed in 1984 .. The Holy Ghost structure was completed in 1924. And yes, this is a photo, not a Render :) Hope you enjoy, and happy holidaze to all! Kurt

Great shot! Pretty striking juxtaposition of architectural styles. You had a good sky for it too.

Thanks all! And to Amberlite:) When ever I did a shoot here, there were always other photographers around. This shot in particular, was done from the street, on the Light Rail track. I presume many have photos from the same angle. Some from this session, and # 6 however, are to my knowledge, completely non attainable by other photographers, as I received exclusive permission to photograph on their properties, including the interior from the 28th and 43rd floor, and their private parking garage 2 blocks away. (My "Reflections of 1999" series are mostly shot on their property) I'd love to see your photos of this Amberlite! This small corner in Denver is quite the photo op .. the new Art Museum is only a few blocks away:) And that is an amazing structure! All the best and cheers, Kurt

Nice. It's interesting to see the stark differences in architecture today versus what was built 100 years ago.

I am back here ;-)I was here and I cannot see this Angel but the mood is like there is an Angel - and shot is total stunning - and strange connection with new and old - the present and future time with the past - faith in God and spiritual things and in human creations - 2 different places with their meaning so close ad so far, hey ! I need sleep - can you play for me ? ;P joking - I ask because net is at last days too slowly and I cannot listen by web - be well

I love this - it just takes you smoothly through the compsosition from the chruch to the building to the clouds and back to do it all over again. Wonderful!
