The moon hung low in the winter sky. The Good Queen could not sleep, for she was troubled with the thought of Sof the toad. She had banished him from Never Never, sweeping him away with one whisk of her whisk. She also knew that he was quite willful, and would stop at nothing to gain entry to the Land. He had long lusted after the Eternal Fountain Of Never Never, hoping to soothe his diseased skin, along with cleansing his hideous soul. She decided that she would use magick to hide the fountain from him, making it impossible for him to find it. But where? She thought and thought. Gazing at the cold night sky, it suddenly occurred to her that Sof's deepest fear was death. Why else had he sought entrance to Never Never? What better place to hide it but a graveyard!?! Her head filled with fond and loving memories of the ancestors, those who had died in the times before the Eternal Fountain had been discovered. Her own parents and grand-parents lay beneath the soil there. It was decided. She would transport the fountain to the graveyard where they were buried. He would never dare venture there. The Good Queen immediately fell into a trance, visualizing the Fountain moving far away, past the Mountains of Pleasure, beyond the Plain of Plenty, into the Acres of the Ancestors. There, the fountain would be safe from the meddling of that toady creature, Sof. Hopefully this would bring to a close this sad chapter in her life.
