i'm with vlaaitje on this - i think it is a microphone - but i havent seen any with a light inside... interesting shot to look at, reminds me of a fly's eye. I would have gone with a portrait crop to get the light on the ground as part of the shot with the object at the top left 3rd (hopefully), i just feel that this crop doesnt do the scene justice... it's your shot tho ;)
