Description

I've modelled this creature a few months ago and even though it has some technical flaws i wanted to make an image with it . So i've textured it, put it into water and voila ! Modelled and rendered in Carrara Studio, textures and post-render done in Photoshop . Please comment !

Very impressive modelling, and great texturing. One suggestion, unless the creature is a floating type creature, it should have some sort of stabilization on the "tail" As it is designed, there are no flukes on the tail, and only a limited stabilization fin on the front. My thoughts are that the tail as designed would create a lot of drag on the creature's swimming efforts. (I know, I am overanalyzing the structural integrity as if it were alive). I would love to see you bone this and animate to get an idea of how you see it swim. Again good job!

i like the creature very much... i would agree that it needs a better tail... how about an eel like tail? if you study the deep sea creatures,one fish comes to mind that lives down in the Mariannas Trench and it has such a tail.

Great (as always), the model is fantastic. You are the best Carrara Modeler that i've ever seen. Also the textures are very good. I'd like to see some vegetation or other creatures.

The thing I have always like and aspired with 3D is the ability to make something that does not exist. You can A: Designe a creature that fits a spacific enviroment and follows those rules or B: Create the creature and envision were it might live, feed and what it does. I see something that is more like Earth's Seahourse, spends much of its time holding on to something but can move in a hovering motion, like treading water. It may actualy be an air breather, with the long apendage on top acting like a snorkle, thus the bubles escaping. Oh well, back from my little trip! Excelent work!!

Superb!!! What a wonderful leviathan you have here!!! The effect of being underwater is well done!! I can feel the pressure of the depth!! Even in a simple (That is to say few objects) image like this, your expertise in textures makes this image superior!!!
