Description

It's time to stop for awhile no matter if we celebrate Christmas or just Holidays or...; it's time to praise the Light that tries to hide itself for a moment, collecting all its strength to come back to lighten our lives, our world. Every year, from the eariest times of the universe, to the possible end of it, the Light has to stop, to take a deep breath, and make its decision whether to go on or not. Every time it's as exhausted for fighting the Darkness, and every time it has made the same decision: I come back, and will get stronger every day since now on! Happy Solstice to you all! We are living now the shortest days of the year - here in the North it's quite a remarkable breaking point towards longer and longer days. Thanks for viewing! Let's celebrate! All the comments are highly appreciated.

Oh, you are in a seasonal mood, aren't you Titta :-) (Thanks for the lovely pic, by the way). So how many hours of daylight do you have in Helsinki at the moment? It's not surprising to learn that there were winter festivals long before Christmas was invented. As for your picture, it looks like hot ice to me! Just the thing for this season... Oh, and thanks for your comment to Shelly-chan's picture. She's very pleased with it, and yes, full of contradictions as you nicely put it. Festive hugs from Japan!

Thank you all so much! Naichan, our daylight time is about 5 hours 45 minutes (from 9:25 to 15:12 today) in Helsinki; in Lapland the sun doesn't rise at all... That "hot ice" is amber. :-) Best greetings to Shelly-chan too:-)!

I will stop for a moment too, titta! But in the same moment while we take this break things are going on. Our chance is to recognize these little wonderful niches of life wich recompense us for so much. To stop for a view or for taking a deep breath. Happy days and all the best, until new year Titta!!!

I like the northern lights, the dance and the fire's glow. There's nothing like being there, but your image caught the feeling. Very special. Celebrate!
