Description
Is a ceiling...
We were pretty lucky in the Seattle Big Windstorm (as yet unnamed) as we hunkered down and bundled up us and the dogs for three days.
Then we woke up to a "water bubble" this Friday morning in the ceiling of the dining room we just finished repainting and flooring a couple of months ago.
Turns out the wind did get us by loosening the shingles and one of the roof channels.
Oh well, on the positive side, we can put up a new ceiling and not have to look at the ugly 1970s "popcorn" ceiling in one room of the house (GRIN).
Between the power outage and the leak, the render machine rewiring has been delayed.
I may not get a Christmas card out this year, so I'll say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" to the Rendie World now.

man miami gets just as much damage and more last year the roof of my brand new guest room would not stop leaking till I spent about 500 dollars on paper and tar and my friends house across the street had like 10,000 dollars worth of repairs done on it. So I pretty much know the pain.

Sorry to see the damage, the good news is things like that can be fixed. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and good luck with the repairs!!!

We were WOP for 60 hours. Most of my yard belongs to my neighbors now. I'm voting for "Typhoon Grinch". But, then again that was the idea I sent in. Most Hurricane regions probably yawn, but this was the first in my lifetime. A Hurricane region, Seattle is NOT. As for the POPCORN...do NOT breathe that stuff...real bad!

Growing up in Indiana, we saw a few tornados coming up Tornado Alley, but still, a NW Blow is quite the experience... Got a tarp on the roof and hopefully have it rigged to redirect the rain (just started raining here again after a dry day yesterday), stashed some insulation batts I had into the joist corners to block the air coming in and rigged another big tarp across the opening to the living room to seal the room off SOME--still and money we "saved" while we were without power is rapidly being sucked up...
