Description

Is it just me, or does Christmas seem nuttier every year? I walked into several shops yesterday and left quickly, because quite simply, I could'nt handle the fuss, hussle and bussle. Everything was just dripping in stress. While most folks are going nuts in stores wondering what to buy everyone , there are folks out there who wont be having a "good Christmas" And you know what? we all know folks who are in that situation. Some we don't know, the homeless who live on the streets , and many ordinary folks just getting by, the single mother pushing her baby buggy down the street, the list could go on.... Do you know of a relative in a retirement home, who hardly gets vistors? relatives you havent been in touch with for a while? A neighbor who lives alone and has no family? Friends who have no one in town to do holidays with? The " crazy season" somehow lets us forget who really needs us, and what the season is really all about. I am not a huge Christmas fan, something has gotten lost in the translation of "Goodwill Towards Men" Instead it's " omg Ive maxed out my credit cards".... Good will should be all year long, not just at Christmas...and I mean GOOD WILL... Christmas is a hard time for many...many of us have a heightened sense of depression this time of year.. parents stuggle to make sure thier families have a Christmas..the pressure takes its toll, and holidays are often a reminder of good times and bad, of the past. My Christmas message to you all, is only to take the time to remember those a little more lonely, those who haven't got a life as fortunate as your own, folks struggling every day..many you may know, many you do not.. If you have time to spare, spent it with someone you dont get to see too often.. drop into a soup kitchen and volunteer.. Christmas isnt really about gifts or riches.. Its about caring. Merry Christmas to all!

Great picture Mike, and excellent words.Very true. Everyone I have heard this year has said christmas is too stressful and they weren't ready for it.It means that we are losing our way and the sense of what christmas is really all about....giving..... We need to forget the hype and 'get back to basics'. Some people on here embody the real spirit of christmas...Roby Hermida (who comments above) being a good example. He is a joy to know and restores faith in humanity by his wonderful personality..bless him.Hope you had a lovely christmas.I am grateful to say I did:-)
