Description

It's been a long time since I've posted. Still have a lot to learn about Vue but hope you like. This is Stonehenge circa 3000BC at the Winter Solstice. There are many experts who now believe it to have been constructed as much for this event as much as the Summer Solstice and this is something like the view they would have had as they approached... and, of course, there would have not been a druid in sight! (For those who don't know, a henge is actually a circular bank and ditch. This one took 1,500 years to get to this stage and started life as a Woodhenge with circular wooden posts. It is unique in its construction with those lintels atop the upright stones). Stonehenge fro Turbo Squid. Rendered in Vue 5 Infinite Enjoy, Mak

Fantastic image. Looks like a photo. It would be interesting to capture how they constructed such a structure using the tools of the time ....mostly manpower.

Nice work Mak! I have long supported the theory that Stonehenge was built for the Winter Solstice, and not the Summer one - it fits the facts better IMHO. Great image!

Great picture, particularly the field and bushes all around with this snowy landscape, and the famous lighting of solstice!

Beautifully done! This does capture a sense of magic and the overwhelming power of the place. I hope to be able to visit this in real life someday, but in the meantime this will do nicely. :o)
