I forgot to mention, his name was Heimdal.

Very sorry to hear of your loss...nothing can replace a four footed friend. Lost mine after 14 years of love and still after 10 years cry about him, his name was TaiPan. I found I didn't take enogh pictures of him, I hope this is but a small portion of the memories and photos you have. Heimdal looks to have been a mischevious little guy! Mike- I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I miss my cats lots too and can only imagine the heartache when they pass on. Just remember, he's in a much better place with all the catnip and kitty treats he could dream of. And he will live on with you forever in your memories.

I wish I was a shutterbug, but sorry to say I am not. I only realised how few pictures I had of him when I went looking for one to use for this. I tend to take pictures for use in creating 3D stuff and rarely for anything else. I honestly wish I had taken more pictures of him.

Always difficult to say goodby to an old friend. My 3 cats are around me,one is rather old (15 years old) and I'm afraid she'll leave us. So sorry for you.

Oh, Mike, I am so sorry. I lost my faithful cat too but buried him outside my kitchen window so I remember him each time I am at the kitchen sink. I have a little pet cemetery here and bury my dogs one day too. I've taken lots of pictures to remember them. Thanks for sharing this with us. janet

So sorry, Mike. Don't know what to say. Heimdal sure was a good looking cat, I especially like the topmost picture - "hey, what's up with that camera thing, can't you see I'm busy?" I lost a dog during the Christmas holidays, over twenty years ago. I don't have pictures, but I have no need of them - I can still see him clearly in my mind, and I still remember his antics. You'll remember Heimdal for many, many years, and as long as you remember, he's not truly gone. That's what I believe. I wish you strength, and I hope you can still find joy during these holidays.

So sorry Mike. My son had to put his cat to sleep at only 6 yrs. old in June, such a nice cat and then on July 14 I lost my husband and Aug 4 lost my job of 17 yrs. due to plant closure. Also my daughter had to put her cat of 14 yrs. to sleep. Not a good year. I have a cat who is so much company to me. Her name is Cessna, my husband liked airplanes. Almost every night I burn a candle outside for a cat I had for 17+ yrs and also for my husband. I guess I got pretty long winded here. Take care. Hugs to you.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. He looks adorable in the photo. I have lost many a good 4 legged friend over the years - somehow a new friend always seemed to find me. The latest is Mai-chan, a kitty abandoned on the top of the mountain pass between Imari and Sasebo in January no less. She's a handful but well worth the effort. Perhaps you too will find a new friend. In the mean time I hope your memories will help you through this time. Take Care.
