Description

This is my entry for this months Rhino challenge. It started out basically as a VTOL transport / rescue craft, with a two seater cockpit and a twin engined rear end with swivelling engines. I did up a centre section with sliding doors that seats six. From this came a weapn pod centre section, to make a gunship, and then the rest of the bits. To make a more versatile transport I did up a new rear section with four vectoring engines and a rear ramp that can seat twelve. This uses the same cockpit section and the range of short mission pods as required. I reckon that it is possible to get nine seperate craft out of these parts. I'll post some pics of the bits joined up tomorrow, thanks for looking!

Very crisp and economical design work. I hope that the universal front section has vertical thrusters, otherwise, it'll be nose-heavy. Other than that one nit-pick, it's a spectacular work! I love the modular fit of the pieces and general 'feel' of it! I really, REALLY want to see some assembled vehicles! Woot! ^__^ V,,

Thanks for the positive feedback guys! I have a few rough renders I'll post of completed configurations in a few mins. >Joelglaine, there are indeed thrusters built into the nose section! There are four motors, two each side of the cockpit fed by the side inlets. The four of these should give enough thrust to allow hovering.

Pretty neat design. Sorta feels like the offspring of a Space:1999 Eagle and an A-10. Both are very ultiliarian, but sorta sexy in their own functional way. It could be cool to offer a bit of a modularity in the cockpit area, too - say maybe a sensor suite or ECM package in place of the nose gun. I'd love to see this thing textured up with full weathering.

Have you given any thought to putting these and the finished set in the market in this format? Or converting them for use in poser
