Description

I'm delving into the wonderful world of character modelling.. I've still got to do his shell, and the texture is temporary - until I canwork out UV mapping - anyone know any good tutorials on the subject? I've borrowed cake1's "real eyes" for this - I hope you don't mind Cecile!

In L7 you can create an atlas uv map (Map/Texture/New UV Map) and then apply your texture using that map in the texture editor (you should see your map name in one of the pulldowns). You can then view the atlas uv map in a modeller window (along with top, right, there is a UV Texture option) and do a screen shot to grab the uv map and then take it into Photoshop to work on your texture. I think you could also save your object out in .obj format and take it into uvmapper and use uvmapper to dump the uv map to a file (a little easier than screenshot then paste and crop in Photoshop).

Pete http://www.uvmap.com has some great tutorials on this subject..I love the turtle, Your doing just fine in modeling ..keep it up my friend the rewards of your hard work will pay off.
