Description

I know most people take photos of the sun going down. Here the other side that is in back of you. I love the colors. When I got brcye5 I saw you can make suff like this and I say" This is not nature???" Then I started to look at the skys more and more. I saw the wonderful sunset that yesitis3 posted and many other artists here. I did not take many photos of them but then I started photos them. I turn around away from the sun and saw the wonderful colors too. I shot this at a lake close to my oldest son house who lives about 40 miles north of Lake Charles. He did have innernet so I did get to comment on all your work.

Jocko, wonderful sense of wide open space, artistic "edge of day" colors, and fine plant and water ripple detail combined by your superb viewpoint choice make this an excellent photograph!!!

Dear Jock, Another pretty sunset!! Form a different direction!! Nature plays trick with us - you've got to LOOK at things sometimes to really see them. A camera can realyl help because you only see one part at a time and notice things you'd have overlooked otherwise. It was from looking at picture that I finally realized with with the sun up, the brightest part of the sky was at the horizon!!!!!!! I'd seen that my whole life but never realised it until the camera revealed it!! Super photograph!!!! Hope you are enjoying visiting!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith

I had a movie camera, a Bolex 8mm. With movie cameras the fun is to take a series of exposures as the sun sets and create a rapidly setting sun on film. This also works with flowers openning but that is another delicacy. You can even use time exposure on a still camera to match the light. On a movie camera the time of exposure is fixed by the expected advance rate even when a cable release provides the stopped motion. Now this trikc of knowing what is behind you is useful in negotiations with a enraged person who confronts you by surprise. By you commenting knowingly on what is behind you the angry person is confronted with a conversation he is trying to discredit even as his own eyes fulfill it. He loses his concentration even as he is certain you are speaking nonsense. Let the eyes behold the firmament above!!

IMHO the most beautiful thing about Winter in the Northern Latitudes... that wonderful, cold violet sky, right near the horizon. Never saw it with a(n unfrozen) lake beneath it, though! Great shot, Jock!

Jocko, Bryce has tons of sky presets you can use! They can be downloaded from all over the place. Anyway, interesting shot with lots of purple effects going on there.

These colors are beautiful! Tonight was spectacular here, as well. The sky was pink and blue, and the moon was full and bright as could be!
