Description

My very first Terragen 2 attempt, needed a little more than 87 hours to be rendered in 2200 x 1650. There were some render bugs in the lower section of the stone field, so I needed to cut it off. Not quite lucky 'bout the boulders' look... :( Happy New Year to all of you & all the best for the future! 21/12/2007 This one will be my last picture, edited here at the Terragen gallery; have a good time, Merry X-Mas & Happy New Year and all the best for the future, to all of you...

87 hours? I would never have THAT much patience. I think the problem with the rocks is that it looks like the same two or three rocks just turned at different angles. Try randomizing them a bit more and it will look more natural. The sky and background are really good though. Happy New Years and a wonderful 2007 to you and yours!

You have been hard at work and it shows. This TG2 is a real challenge. You have done well with the terrain and atmo. Regarding the rocks/boulders; take a visit to: http://paths.meltingice.net/tg2/terrain_mod.php . You will find two tutorials here that are very informative. One deals with the creation of rocks/boulders.

An inspiring render- I guess I'll keep my nose to the grindstone and hope to get to this point.

Hi Lutz, already a fine render... you can improve your stones shaders by connecting to them a powerfractal with very little scale displacements.

Hi Lutz, nice one for the first! You can add a twist and shear shader to it, and i change the color variation slider in the color tab of the fakestones shader a bit.

Even if the stones look strange, this render is really nice. The background is splendid, so are the clouds. More than 80 hours ? I know that... ;o)

87 Stunden?
