Description
My very first Terragen 2 attempt, needed a little more than 87 hours to be rendered in 2200 x 1650.
There were some render bugs in the lower section of the stone field, so I needed to cut it off.
Not quite lucky 'bout the boulders' look... :(
Happy New Year to all of you & all the best for the future!

87 hours? I would never have THAT much patience. I think the problem with the rocks is that it looks like the same two or three rocks just turned at different angles. Try randomizing them a bit more and it will look more natural. The sky and background are really good though. Happy New Years and a wonderful 2007 to you and yours!

You have been hard at work and it shows. This TG2 is a real challenge. You have done well with the terrain and atmo. Regarding the rocks/boulders; take a visit to: http://paths.meltingice.net/tg2/terrain_mod.php . You will find two tutorials here that are very informative. One deals with the creation of rocks/boulders.

An inspiring render- I guess I'll keep my nose to the grindstone and hope to get to this point.

Very, very nice! The shadows are really well done!
Coppens
Top two-thirds of this image looks really good and lutzian already. You'll get it all together sooner or later!
hillrunner
Hi Lutz, already a fine render... you can improve your stones shaders by connecting to them a powerfractal with very little scale displacements.
Petra-S
super combination!
lucbianco
Not so bad for a first attempt ;-)

Hi Lutz, nice one for the first! You can add a twist and shear shader to it, and i change the color variation slider in the color tab of the fakestones shader a bit.

Exc One Lutz! Very Good! Like the lightin', the planet and the shaders!

Even if the stones look strange, this render is really nice. The background is splendid, so are the clouds. More than 80 hours ? I know that... ;o)

87 Stunden?

Really nice work Lutz. I agree with kierab's comments.
