Description

For those of you outside the USA, this is a Mockingbird. It is the Florida (and a few other states) State bird. They have a beautiful voice (most of the time) but are very scrappy and love to torment other birds and even cats. Anyway this was shot at my mom's place in Orange Beach, Alabama. Thank you for your much appreciated comments, have a wonderful day! Please see full size, the preview images just don't look half as good most times. Wendy

Exellent shot, sharp pic! We got 'em here in Virginia. There was a news video a few years back showing a pair dive bombing people coming too close to their nest in D.C.

It is the state bird of Texas, too! Lovely shot. I took a shot of a mockingbird yesterday, but your shot is much better! :)

Must be a tough bird, because Orange Beach was beat up twice recently by both Ivan and Katrina! Always wondered what happens to birds like this in such major hurricanes. Somehow they survive. Nice shot Wendy!
