just an attempt at adding huge fake stonesall over the place the moon seems to be non-spherical for some reason!!??

Fine pile of boulders! You're getting there bit by bit! Boulder on the lower right may be somewhat too smooth. Al in all, the image looks pretty good!

Maybe if you apply the extreme displacements to some fake stones and have the rest smoother so then you can make the extreme displacements more sparse rather than all over. I think that might be more effective.

Big boulders rock;-) The moon thing is the camera FOV--Bryce does the same thing, it's pretty annoying when you are trying to do a big space scene and you have a moon in there. I usually ended up plastering in a 2d moon in correct the warp.
