Description

memories of green: as i was a little child, i used to watch at a fascinating cartoon serie known as starblazers. this is a remake of my own design of a subspace submarine seen in one episode. i can't remember its original shape, but the amazing fact was that this spacescraft could emerge from the subspace really near the enemy spaceships and attack them. i find genial and funny the use of a subspace dimension. beside the classic ruse for rapid space travel, the hyperspace, there was a subdimension where these submarines could hide. i've figured there is some kind of friction in the subspace, like in the sea. therefore i gave a fluent siluhette to my space submarine. the laser cannon turrets can revolve and hide when the ship is submerged. the bow is equipped with a classic wave motion gun with four tubes and a monomolecular blade to ram enemy ships [see 'use of the weapons' in my gallery] the stern contains some rockets and torpedos for every day use thanks for stopping /matteo

I find this to be an interesting design, so for the heck of it I looked up the show on Wikipedia and found a picture of a similar ship here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SpaceBattleshipYamato.jpg I like your version better though; it looks a bit more "spacey" :)

Well as I remember Starblazers (have to pull out the VCR tapes!). The Yamato was a star/space ship built from the remains of the original Battleship Yamato sank during WW2. It was raised and refitted as a space craft equipt with a "WaveMotion" gun and a squadron of fighter space planes. I always liked the style of the ships, so similar to ocean ships. Your's has captured that style elegantly. Cool design, can;t wait to see more. mike

Great design and a fitting tribute peice. She looks like she's ready for space and to do some damage, I'm sure she'll do her designer proud as she sails through space, exploring the stars ^^
