Description

I have just barely scratched the surface of Chicago architecture, but here is a detail shot of a building on Ashland Avenue. I had never known this street until this summer, when it was one of the two alternate routes for the Dan Ryan Expressway. I have discovered the city of Chicago, and continue to discover it, each time I took one of the alternate routes that I never took before. Today the light was so pretty in the afternoon, so I made some studies of buildings on my route home from my acting agent's office. I am still looking into the history of the buildings I captured today. If anyone has information on the brickwork on Ashland Avenue, let me know.

You are treating us to some wonderful architectural history, new and old. I like the relief work in this one. It would be great to know more about the work. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photography with us, Sue.
