Description

This is an old shot (1989 old to be exact) of downtown Orlando. I was going through some old negative scans I had done a while ago, and since I'd always liked this shot, thought I'd share it. No real hidden meaning for it, I really just liked the line and form of the image. Of course hindsight being what it is, it does make me think of how much more confusing the folks at city hall managed to make downtown over the years (I don't think there's a single two-way street left in downtown proper... just some of the roads feeding into it at this point). Ah well, guess that's the price of progress. Also makes me think of a conversation I had with a transportation engineer friend of mine a few years ago... seems that whenever they tried to run a computer simulation of Orlando, it would return errors (basically stating that this city was not possible without drastic changes to the layout and the support systems that it was give as data). Funny thing is the data was all taken from the city survey of the prior year, which still makes me laugh. Shot was taken with my old Pentax K-1000 on 400 ISO Kodak Tri-X film with a 50mm lens (probably at f8.0 or f11, but I'm not sure). Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Comments and crits are welcome, as always.
