Description

It's remarkable how many images look better in black and white. *** Same setup as my previous image. Ripples done in Photoshop, then imported onto a terrain. Since I had overalls for David, I made his head fatter and shortened arms and legs to make him a kid.

Very nice and great job with the ripples David. Yep, some image do look better in B&W, especially if the desired effect is nostalgia. So, what happened.. I jumped here on your ebot and it was removed? Now it's back? You know you can use edit and not consume your daily allowance to fix something. Funny issue I noticed is that young people don't appreciate B&W. They grew up with color pictures and color TV.. So B&W doesn't carry the same feeling for them. Anyway, super render my friend. Best wishes for you and yours during this New Year. Dave :^)

This one I like even better than the last one. B&W can be really cool when done right--as here.

Skipskipskip..how much fun that is! I'm glad I grew up someplace where there were rocks and water and a place to do this:-) The black and white is very nostalgic!

Certainly captures the essence of it, so excellent in many respects. Just thinking, I bet with about $5000 I could get a Maya plugin (of course I don't have Maya, another paltry $2000) and/or make much the same render after about 10 years of studying hydraulics and writing my own (add 10x$40000). So, you've done really well!

Outstanding work and yes I myself cant waite until I am able to create something and then use monotones to give it that added photorealistic look and feel. Please can you explain a little more on how you were able to make the ripples in photoshop then import into bryce?

I can remember several of the kids shows that I watched in the 50's and 60's in colour, even though they were only ever made in B&W !! Its funny, but I can almost see colours in this image. Its a tribute to your artistry that it evokes such powerful inages that they almost override the senses.

Incredible job. It would almost seem like losing the vegetation in the foreground would make this seem all the more real though. a minor complaint in what I see as an astounding pic. Stand proud. :c)
