With Jack I don't have to pretend He doesn't care nor does he understand But it does help when I talk to him about men He doesn't say much but is a good friend Few minutes with him gets me feeling good again We sat and talked a while He treats me like I were a child I'm careful not to get too wild I ask Jack about a few profiles While fighting back the bile How can a man not love his daughter? I know he has many children with another But her birthday passed without a word from her father! Jack says "That's because he's a bastard!" Then encouraged me "Here, have another" This other man chooses to forget Ignoring an offspring their love beget He looks at her, sees only regret "Don't know" Jack confessed And said "Slow down you're drinking too fast!" Told him I had a date "Pour me another, I'm running late!" Yes, I know I'm tempting fate Jack asked "What are you trying to mask?" And said "No more, this is your last" I want to be able to feel But they don't seem real Men seem to have lost their appeal "Finish up and go to bed" he said

A very strong and moving piece. I imagine 'Jack' to be a girl's best friend ... her loyal and loving dog. But then he is most likely Jack Daniels. CC

Interesting writing.. An unfortuanate reality for many!! I am very blessed to not have turned to such things for comfort, but truly feel for those who must..

I never thought my heart would break anymore than when my oldest child said to me, " Mom, thanks for the gifts, but you should really stop putting Dad's name on them." That was when I knew they knew, and were trying to protect me! They are the ones who gave me comfort. Jack made me sick, and Johnny gave me headaches! Thanks God for the kids. BJ

How can a man not love his daughter? But her birthday passed without a word from her father! Shocking but moving piece. In answer to the above question, I have no idea whatsoever.
