Description


Stepping back from the many thousands of thermal zones this is a glimpse of the entire area (all of volcanic). The area you are looking at is known to be the largest volcanic erruption in the history of recorded time, many don't realise this fact. Some 400SqKm of land was blown out thus creating the lake you can see part of here. It is a truley unique and beautiful place to venture into.

The area where the lake is - is called Taupo. The mountaitn is called Mt Ruapehu and behind us 80km North is Rotorua (New Zealand).
