Description
I don't know whether there are many "Dad's Army" fans out there but, if there are, I am sure you will recognise these 2 characters - Mr Mainwaring (pronounced Mannering) and Private Pike (aka "Pikey" and "You stupid boy!").
Once a year in Pickering, North Yorkshire, dedicated people get dressed up in World War II regalia and parade around the streets. It is also a steam railway weekend. It is really very interesting and makes for great character studies. These two are there dressed up every year and, as you can see, are clearly meant to be Mr Mainwaring and Pikey. I hope this image brings back happy memories of this classic TV programme.

Don't tell them your name Pike, wonderful memories, I think it's probably the best cast show of all time, my personal favourite was PRIVATE FRASIER (JOHN LAURIE) "were doomed...doomed I tell ya!' Thanks for the smile and a wonderful clear capture.

haha.... Holy cow, Dad's Army. I haven't thought about that show since I moved to Canada in the early 70's. I've got fond memories of watching that with my dad. Thanks for the laugh, and the memory. The Britts sure do know a thing or two about humour. Sounds like a fantastic weekend, wonderful capture!!!!
