Description

As promised....something completely different from my last uploads. Captured this 'birdie', a young hawk (forgot about the exact name of the species, must take a little notebook next time...I'm growing old...LOL), during my visit last October at Safaripark Beekse Bergen near Tilburg in the south of The Netherlands. I did try to capture these magnificent birds of prey in-flight during the show which can be seen there, but that was way to difficult for me (I'm a big fan of Jim's (Nameless_Wildness) fantastic birdie-shots, but now I 'm even more impressed by his shots. I can understand that it took alot of practice to reach that level...*sigh*...). When the show was over, and everybody had gone, I stayed at the site to eat one of my own made sandwiches. After a few minutes the man who did the show came up with one of his 'stars', the young hawk which you can see above. He told me that this hawk was very young and therefor not very used to people yet. Because the birds have to get used to people, he sometimes makes a little walk together with one of the youngsters when it's not that crowded anymore. He asked me if I would like to take some pictures, so that the bird also gets used to that funny thing (=the camera) I was carrying. How about that, seems that it was one of those lucky days!! Anyway...me hopes you like! Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my last upload, "Cult & Tumult #3 (Final)". Your comments on these last three uploads really meant alot to me!! Holla - that really IS different from you! Bravo! Just one tip - running it through a noise filter like Neat Image could remove the grain of the background.

YIKES!!!! Wow!!! What an awesome capture this is. Sheer and utter perfection!!! Perfect clarity and DOF. I could count every feather on that birds head...although i should probably get back to work instead, lol. Have a great one! #:o)
