Description
HOMEWORLD was a Sierra videogame for PC that came in 1997-98.
I never played it, though I knew of it by viewing the video that the supa group "YES"
have done on it, having scored the game title.
Beautiful ships, though, and then at LightwaveGroup forum I discovered this mega-archive
full of Homeworld ships/stations... !!!
Most of them are plagued by being poorly mapped (I usually uprez those kind of maps with Photoshop or Flash, but in this case resolution was like 120 x 80 sometimes...)
so that only the bigger ships came out neatly.
I am converting most of them on Bryce, and I am enjoying myself so much to give them that extra edge of reality with the HDRI render... hey , Bryce its' a breeze now than ever...

I don't care what you say. This rocks! Bigtime. Perhaps a few lights on the big carrier ship, but anyways....5

Just one question, how do you convert those lightwave files? I found them myself (goolge was and still is my friend), so for the love of Kajuk how??

Awesome!!! The Games (Homeworld and Homeworld 2) were great.

to RobertJ It is very simple: I am both Bryce and Lightwave enthusiast, and when you have the latest LW modeler, you can simply import the LW object you want (those pesky post lw 5 objs...) and export a nice importable by Bryce .obj.... then of course you may want also to uprez some maps a bit... but essentially from there onward is just pure fun !

Great image, some neat models!

INTERESTING SHIPS!!!

You can also use Wings3D to convert .lwo's to .obj's. Lightwave sounds great if you got it, but the price tag makes me shiver.
zorzim
to su liam: Well I agree with you... Lightwave it's an expensive tool as object converter... but then at te same time you buy an excellent modeler (don't try to compare it with Wings3d on this PLEEASE) and a solid renderer, and you can do animations like the pro do... You can debate whether or not its the best program AND being the cheaper at the same time, probably it's not, but this is another issue... why don't you use Vue instead of Bryce ? Everyone says that's the best choice compared for its price... anyway they gave me Vue free with LW...
