Description

I was still getting the wrong kind of attention so my riding companions added a TT racer to our group. He also worked at Douglas. Folks wanted the fibreglass and chrome-moly frame of his bike to build custom desert bikes with British 500 twin engines. That put them about $2000 out of my league. His wife was a cocktail waitress who wore skimpy costumes and got big tips. I would say she was the only one of the wives who might have worn quality lingerie. Eventually he and his wife traded in the racer on matched 80cc Hodaka's and rode off together without us. He got a job as a fireman but lost it because the chief wanted him to cut his styled hair. So he was back pricing commercial DC-8 deals for the airlines. Why no background? This is a Matisse, man and Monet will soon be my baby sitter. After my wife and I have kids and buy a house and she becomes a liquor salesman.

Wasn't this the bike that Raymond Chandler zipped around on? He liked to slum around in the trade and act the man, which meant that a Vespa, although sleek in design and good on mileage, would have been to him like a tall drink with an umbrella you sip with your pinky sticking out.

Dear Dale, Instead of a race "heat" I'm just focused on the "heat" as in warmth!!! The ice storm of the midwest is starting to bear down on us. It's 27 outside, wind pushing the chill to 15, pouring rain mixed with a little snow, and forecast to get worse!!!! Isn't that jsut ducky!!!!! I think I could really enjoy some of the Southern California "Douglas" type weather for a few days!! Maybe even to try out a bike!!! I just read Evinrude's comment. I think a Vespa might be more my style!!! Although I prefer Glen Livet over drinks with umbrellas!!!!! I can't remember the title but I saw an old movie that had a new Vespa - maybe "Roman Holiday" or something like that??? I could manage a scooter pretty well!!!!! I'll be curious to see if the race gets going tomorrow!!!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand

I have a distinct fondness for the Isle of Man. I worked at King William's College at Castletown [a Public School - which is, in a perversely British way, both private and fee-paying] for a while. The TT races were a welcome boost to the normal leisurely pace of life on the island. Serenity can be very wearing. Mike

You can feel his competitive spirit, he will win if they would just drop the flag before his rich jetting causes plug fouling. Onlookers cheer and drink ale. All errors will be big ones. Great model Dale! Your comments and models make my day! Jay

Can I pre-order some vodka now? I am amazing with modeling, something I have neither the patience on inclination to do. Nicely done!
