Great series if that is what it is, sort of a Robinson Crusoe... Of course you could always give it a fantasy twist.

I agree somewhat with FitArtistSF & Aldaron about the ship needing to show some damage and I would suggest adding some rocks into the water to explain why there were no other survivors. I think that the rigging would be the first to distress, it seems odd to see it intact. Perhaps the ship may have remained intact if there was a plague onboard and she was scuttled, but we should be seeing the appropriate flag flying to warn other seamen. I do like your brushwork on the sand and the sailor's hair, it appears a bit different than your usual touch. It gives the picture a nice texture, rather like an engraving rather than an oil.

I love being able to see how you made little strokes build up into the shapes of the beach, the foam and the survivor--it's a little bit like magic!

Masterful, as always!!! ...and no doubt that ship has ( or had? ) the name "Black Rock" inscribed on it's bow... and that poor fellow is now truly... Lost!

In this case, the expression, "A picture says a thousand word," has to be up graded to "A picture tells a thousand stories." The Clouds blended with the water and rocky inlet by itself, beg to tell it's story. Details are so very realistic, so true. This goes into my WIHD folder [wish I had done] Excellent in all aspects.
