Description
There are certain places we all tend to treasure more than others, and it doesn’t have to be for any obvious reason. We just feel more comfortable, safe and happy there than anywhere else without being able to explain it.
The ruin of Sutton Scarsdale Hall have been a place like that for me ever since I came here. Except from the reasons above I also like the whispers that time have swept around the place. People have died, been born, laughted and cried between those old stone walls since medival times, and there are rumours that the basement holds more than just spiders. There is suppose to be ghosts around, but I don’t know. Most ruins and old buildings around here have some kind of ghost story in circulation, and to set up a video camera in the dark ain’t enough to prove anything.
But no matter how much I love that place in the daylight, I wouldn’t want to be around after dark. Can’t tell you why, but somehow I have a feeling that the peace it gives in the daytime must have some sort of opposite effect when the sun have set.
However, for as long as the sun is around it’s a beautiful place for picnics, it’s interesting if you’re doing photo trips or as the case was when Robin took the piccie of me above, just sit around and let your mind wonder.
And I’ve had a lot worse neighbors than this.
That’s for sure ;)

You are beautifully framed by the rough sandstone structures hiding all the secrets. The huge trees certainly add their part of the secrecy.
