Description

a 20 min test: quick render default settings except GI was 1/1...thanks to moodflow's tips at planetside forums for this cool an easy technique for nobbly rocks(multi layered fake stones with no outcrop/strata or displacements...just noise stretch settings in fractal terrain tweak noise and image file for surface colours!!)will post a slightly different version with better sky and higher quality settings, though as is I quite like this!!

Excellent shader work and I agree with Costaud, the lower quality settings have given it a painted look. Great stuff :)

You've achieved some very nice rock layers here. I see this evolving into a great scene!

Nicely done ! We don't always need to pusch the quality settings at their maximum everytime we make a render !

i think that those formation may be very cool... it's a pity for the quality.. i cannot admire your work completely

This looks very interesting. It will be nice to see higher quality. I actually like the way Terragen handles renders at very low quality. It looks quite painterly and the GI makes it even better. No other app turns out low quality renders quite like this. I think there is a lot of scope for doing renders like this to use as a base for 2D post work.

This is superb. Has an alienesque quality to the terrain. The simplicity of the sky lends to the beauty of the terrain. Excellent render.
