Description

Another look at Splitrock Lighthouse on the Northern Shore of Lake Superior. I posted several shots of this beautiful place in my previous gallery, before I went and deleted the whole thing, but never got to posting this one. This is a view from the trail along the lake leading away from the lighthouse, looking back through the trees. A beautiful place, and a wonderful day. Moments flash before us, and then they're gone. That's why I always try to carry my camera. Sometimes it gives me the chance to breathe everlasting life into those magical times that flash by us all too quickly.

Everything comes together in this photo. The foreground with the tree overlapping onto the background of the point with lighthouse; the distant horizon with clouds to the higher wispy clouds showing movement; the colors of earth and water blending in subdued hues...this is a wonderful shot! Glad you keep your camera with you!

You're right Marshall... about having always your camera with you. Sometimes we see incredible things and... no cam ;o(((( Each photograph is a testimony of the past, of the present, something who will never arrive again, unique moment for each of us. That's the magic of the photography ! Beautiful this Lighthouse with these incredible colors. A so peaceful place. Fo so many years (even now....) I dream to live in a Lighthouse. But in France, it's not so easy... It must be an incredible way of life, in particular in a place as this one. Can I came to live here ????? Gorgious my friend. A very big hug.
