Description

SHARDS IN HER EYES In the briefest of glittering glances I spy the shards in her eyes. Crystalline inclusions in the ice-blue iris; vitreous splinters rip-reflecting, slash-refracting; scatter spitting pyrotechnic slivers of shattered psychic spectra shredded sensations and scattered semblances of sybaritic reality. Amid the debris of these clinical incisions: reflected? yes refracted? yes I perceive a passing glimpse of reconstructed ancient cruelties past born and present pressed into servile slavery. Her intent is cut glass clear. In that mere second

A whole new level to the phrase, "Icy glance"! Seems to me she had perfected the glance and used it often on many! Great imagery evoked with these words.

Emotionally Raw. How awful to be a shard in the eye of a cruel woman. Then again, if it caused enough misery....

Cruelty is always found in the eyes, even behind the most enticing of smiles. Hope seeing yourself as a shard means you are well clear of her now. BJ

You can almost see through the log. It's the simulated bark in the glass that makes the images break up suddenly. Slavery? as we ride down the Logan river I am reminded of the chains and fetters of chemical bondage proffered as cure.

Intriguing realization (borrowed from Rodolfo) ... but it works! I sense that you've distributed shards widespread but that is simply because I prefer to live vicariously (timidly) through the experiences of the experienced.

The graphics and poem compliment each other very well. These components addressed different cognative areas. Well done, I feel the emotions.

Mike-My-Man ... what a dazzling display of Dantesque devotion to miserable memories. Socrates was surely sagacious when he suggested, "Out of bad good comes" ... in your case: powerful pyrotechnic poetry! j j di Salvo

Many times in life it seems that past hurts bring about bitterness that separates the bitter person from all others. As has been said many times, the eyes are the window to the soul. Bitter people deaden themselves to their feelings and the feelings of others. That is how they survive. You became aware of your part in the "ancient cruelties". That is more than some have realized in life, or even cared. Lea
