This little blue heron IS a professional. He flew from about 25 ft. away where he'd been hiding in a tree and landed on the railing less than 3 ft. from me, where I stood ready and waiting! His home at the time was the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary between Naples and Immokalee Fl.
