Description
This is a project that has kinda stalled for a few months. Any sugestions as to how I could finish it? Oh, the glasses are fairly accurate models of a set of Sherbet Glasses that had formerly belonged to my grandma.

Wow - nicely done so far! I can certainly see why you want to continue with this, and why you were inspired to begin with. How fortunate you are to have something so lovely from your grandma. Maybe you could put them on a lace tablecloth, shine the silver up a bit more (increase mirror settings) and add more dishes, or a vase, that would reflect in the silver. Make these beautiful glasses the center of attention - other items could be out of the frame, and only reflecting. That would be a nice, subtle touch. Or perhaps you could put a mirror behind them, as if they're sitting "pride of place" on a buffet, with a wood texture under them. Or put them on a windowsill with the sun hitting them. Mmmmm. I can see that - very nice. Blah, blah, blah . . . ask artists for ideas, and our brains just dump out, don't they? Hopefully you'll get lots of great suggestions, and then do as you darn well please! :) Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be great. I'll look forward to seeing where you go with this!

Thanks for the ideas. I'll certainly try some of your suggestions.

Very pretty. I'd suggest using caustics for the finished version, either with yafray with a photon lamp (mind you, I've never yet managed to get that looking ok) or indigo. I agree with the above about it needing something to reflect.

ok, dont use a photon lamp, instead use an area light coupled with a light emiting mesh. Area light goes infront of the mesh! use yafray with full gi on and photons on. add an HDRI image to the background, increase the hardness on the glass to full level. then... put the glasses on a table, optimaly with a table cloth. oh, increase the subdivision level on the glasses, and last but not least(actualy pretty important), make sure you dont see the edge of the spotlight in the picture, makes it look like a realy low quality render.
