Description

G'day All! Here is my very first attempt at a panorama. It consists of 5 photos joined together & I know its not perfect & would love to hear any comments or ideas on how to make these. I spent a few hours in Photoshop to get it like this so if anyone knows a program that makes it easier then I'd love to know about it :) As always all comments & helpful hints are always greatly appreciated & taken on board for my projects in the future. :) Thank you all for your viewing & comments on my last photo "Koala"

Excellent pan. Good catch with the cruise ship. Be a real good poster layout.

I checked the full view and could not pick up evidence of stitching - excellent results. I am using PhotoImpact but the effort is about the same as with PS. Until you do find an "easy" alternative, a hint: I take my cam's meter readings halfway between the brightest light and the lowest light exposures. Then I use those readings and manually set my aperture and and shutter speed for all the photos. Each photo will then join much easier to the next. I hope it helps.

Very well done! The traces that you do see are neglectable and can only be found if you actually look for them - so you did a good job. My tip? Photoshop CS3 has a new feature to join images - that will automatically adjust exposure etc. and will make creating pano's a lot easier. Haven't seen it yet myself - but read good things about this feature!

Stunning stitch-work! I haven't really looked at stitching in depth but I did read up on the tripod setup. Apparently you would mount your camera in such a way that the last lens element (end of your lens) is the pivot point rather than the normal position of the the camera or lens mount. This would naturally mean that an extension plate is required to do this. I am not sure what the correct name of this add-on is, but I hear that it does make a difference and may reduce the post-work. You don't need this in your pano though. Well done.
