Description
Supermarine Spitfires of the outmanned RAF going for it during the Battle of Britain, back in the early 1940s. I'm sure most of you remember that momentous period in history when England was fighting for its very life. Winston Churchill paid them deep homage for their efforts.
Ironically, although the Spitfire received most of the fame and glory, it was its sibling, the Hawker Hurricane, that did most of the fighting.
BTW, if the aircraft look too close together, they're not....it's merely an optical illusion. I've seen photos of planes even closer than that. While working with the top view of this scene I gave them ample elbow room.
Model from Renderosity. Propeller blur by myself using Photoshop.
Thanks for giving us a peek, and keep your eyes to the sky!

I'm sure they will get them Krautflyers. My Mother used to read - before I had to go to sleep - some pages from the Pierre Closterman's Book "Burning Arena". Strog Spitfire pilot story. Funny how times fly by....
