Description

Another rock-balancing photo. This rock was so heavy I couldn't lift it, but had to roll it into place. The ground it's standing upon is solid granite, so I simply tipped it up onto a point and found a tiny depression in the bedrock to perch it into. The area that is in contact with the ground was no wider than a pencil! What amazed me even more was the rock still standing 5 days later, after 3 storms rolled through. Unfortunately, it finally toppled over my last day before leaving. Ah, well. If you want to see some truly amazing things, hop over to google and search the string "Rock Balancing" and you'll find some incredible stuff that people are doing. Then I recommend trying it yourself, sometime. It's addictive... Enjoy the shot, and thanks for everyone's comments so far.

Perfect balance, well done. Somebody else would have tried a spherical rock, but that would be pointless.

really neat...I guess as long as the rock didn't topple you over then it's cool! Beautiful photo. keep up the great balancing act! All the best Kathleen
