Description

Here are 2 shots of Point Betsie lighthouse. Benzie County's most famous landmark, is located on the Lake Michigan shore of the county just south of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and just north of Frankfort, Michigan. Point Betsie is the second most photographed lighthouse in the USA, and likely the most visited attraction in Benzie County. Watching the sunsets from Point Betsie is a long-standing tradition. Hope you enjoy the shots. As alway, Comments are welcome ant appreciated.

Wonderful shots. The first one just looks so cold! I love the cropping and tone. The color version is great. The stark contrast between the red roof and blue sye makes the photo for me. Well done!

Beautifully captured! I love lighthouses but was wearying of the typical water background or stormy seas. Thank you for something original and distinct.

Two beautiful photographys. I really like the top one. I'm suprised the lighthouse itself wasn't encased in ice!

Excellent shots! I really like the POV and black & white of the top image, it really brings out the contrast in the sky. I especially like that you got the ice in the top shot. ;o)

beautiful contrast between the seasons...stark and cold for winter and rumbling and alive for the next...in the bottom left of the warm one you can see the roar of the ocean. Wonderful!

People in the gallery have a serious tendency to increase the size of their thumb to the maximum allowed... and here I found your dainty thumb...After clicking, I discovered two excellent pictures !! Great idea to show us this lovely place on two different angles and tones... very hard to make a choice... I love both pictures very much ! BRAVO ! coucouchapeau.gif

What a creative idea! Capturing the different seasons at their best, really allows for the true essence of this place to be shown and felt. I'm not sure which one I like "better", because they are both so different, such different moods and different tones... soo beautiful in their own way. It's amazing how something can look so different depending upon its environment. The top one is lovely, the white ice must be very cold, and yet in your image they have almost a warmth about them.... Great idea, very imaginative and beautiful images!

Both images stand easily on their own. The top one however is in a class of it's own. Perfect B/W treatment - pinpoint clarity and the frozen area upfront completes a perfect stunner! Look at my avatar my friend - Today's salute is for you only!

WOW! Honestly I can't imagine how cold it is with ice all around you seeing as we never get snow in Pretoria, SA. I think you did an absolutely splendid job on these two captures! Thanx for sharing the info too :0))
