Description
I recently visited Australia and Ayers Rock. I found it difficult to do something 'different'. In this photo I've applied my circular polariser and was quite impressed by the effect of the dark blue sky in the upper right corner.

Absolutely stunning! The intense contrasts makes the rock stand out well, especially the vignetted blue sky. I like the POV too. Well done Charles and welcome to RR. I really think you will enjoy this community. Just a word of caution - this can be really addictive. LOL Regards Anton

Great shot of the rock. Welcome.

It is very hard to do a shot of Ularu (formerly Ayer's Rock) that hasn't been done before - however, you have caught the colours and expanse very well. Did you visit the Olgas as well?

Good start into your doom! You will find yourself not only addicted but suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome pretty soon! Just kidding. (Not really). Good shot - regardless how typical it might be!

I have never seen it before, so it is a nice photo for me to view. Thanks for sharing.

First of all let me say: Second id like to compliment you on a beautiful first upload. That is one sight id love to see for myself one of these days. Perhaps if you sized the shot down a little then the quality would be even higher. Remember that if people view photos in a compressed state they will loose more quality the more their browser needs to compress them. And if youre viewing photos in full-size, like myself, then you lose that "oomph-effect" when youre not able to view a photo all at once and you have to scroll in every direction first....you get somewhat desoriented, lol. Anyhoo...im rambling...bla bla bla. Have a wonderful day and keep them coming. #:o)

I've always wanted to go there myself. Did you climb it? Great capture! The colors remind me of the red rocks of the American Southwest.
