Description
I met a mayer
his village vanished
slowly
walking
through a pock-marked
landscape
once living
houses blossomed
but now there are only
fir trees
crackling in the icy
freezing air
his village has no inhabitants
the streets marked
bordered with commemoration
stones
where once houses stood
people lived
this church
the seize of a memory
and under the school yard
where once children played
there are now corpses
of deadly
tired soldiers
winters cover them
and after a sticky spring
their bones bleach
under an infernal
summer sun
they never made it
'till autumn
They fell
a few months
before the first oak leaves
sunk
into the sticky yellow
earth
where they disintegrated
with permission
meanwhile
nature disappeared
without a trace
it took years of
trouble
human effort
to grow
an artificial wood
years after those terrible
months
roots
burrowed their way
trough many
forgotten corpse
"Nous avons connu l'incommunicable"
someone wrote
and still
we don't understand

This is a very sad poem, though very well spoken. Lovely image for it! Excellent work! (:

Excellent tribute !! I agree it is a sad poem, but maybe , we all should read this daily, to understand how wrong humanity has been in following the madmen in history. I always believed that history was told so that we never forget the horrors that we must never do . Alas , we are still children in this ancient world. Excellent poem and design !!~BRAVO~!!
