The shape is ok however the roundel seems too big.I would have liked a flight of Spitfires.Good graduation in the sky.

very nice/and when i was a kid I ether took pencil in hand or built them out of wood and paper. if I still had all my old books I beleive there was a squadron that used the Large Roundels.

The nose profile, canopy faired into the tail piece and stacks look oddly like a Hurricane. Even the radio antenna mast and wire. Perhaps it has just taken off and the tail wheel is not retracted yet as it seems to be on a shallow climb with a high angle of attack. I did look up "spitfire" in nautical terms and found it to be a storm sail so I understand why you would have that up today. I am going to go look at spitfires again from their flat nose tops to their bubble canopies. The center radiator scoop also says Hurricane. Spits had theirs on the wing leading to confusion with Messerschmitts until you could see it was one or two and on which wing. KQV?

Excellent work, very realistic. I was based at RAF Coningsby, UK for 5 years in the late 80's, this is the home of the Battle of Britain memorial flight and seeing the Spitfire close-up was a real pleasure. Aalthough it was a machine of war I always kind of thought it was very artistic looking, very easy on the eye. Also hearing that Merlin engine roar was fantastic. Nice to think your image has rekindled thoughts of those years. Well done, Steve

Nicely done artwork Ken! The model, its textures, the sky, lights, and clouds all work great to give a wonderful sense of flight in the clear high sunlight way above the often troubled world below!!!

As a kid, I built a model of this aircraft. It has an elliptical wing planform which is difficult to construct. Excellent above the clouds picture Ken.
