Description

An illustration of a fantasy ogre by the name of Bendarm. 3 Poser renders layered up and merged into an image, which then went thru some postworking - not much really, just making and adding the background and enchancing some lines.

I love this finish. So what type of renders did you use to achieve this look. Excellent...

"So what type of renders did you use to achieve this look." I used Olivier's Art Material shaders. One was a tritone shader with textures on some materials and with plain colours on others. Another render was done with a graphite shader and the third one was a duotone b/w effects render to get nice black edges. I tuned the shaders toward my liking in each case and used a single infinite plain white light. In a photo-editing program I then composed the image layers with different blending options and opacity, merged and applied an edge-preserving smoothing operation to cut away some extra roughness left by the graphite shader.
