Description

A collage of shots I took at the 2006 Farnborough Air Show. As you can no doubt see I'm not the world's greatest photographer, and I was never that good at Tetris either ;)

Dear Mike, This is AWESOME - and you are a heck of a photographer!!!! WOW!!! You've got me drooling over the full size view!!!! I'v seen a lot of pictures of the A-380 but these are fantastic!! I've never seen the underside like this!!! Those flaps are huge!! Eash set of Fowlers must be the size of a football field!! And those are some serious struts to support them!! I surprised they didn't fair the wings and fuselage together smoother - sort of like the Raytheon Premier. It looks like they did the area ruling, so in don't understand the lack of fairing. The winglets are really interesting, too with both the up and down stuff!!! And I hadn't noticed before that the wing in cranked!! That's a great shot too of the tail cone and APU fairing! I'd love to see it from the underside like that when it's dirty. I can't tell for sure - are those slats between the fuselage and the two inboard engines?? These are better pictures than I've seen on the Airbus site!! Incredible shots!!!! When I IM'ed you I forgot to mention a B52 low pass I really loved - AND the WILD Mig 29 stuff you have captured here!!! The things they do rate way up in there in the "impossible" category!!! I never have figured out how they avoid compressor stalls!!! I've always wondered what happens with an engine out on the Osprey. I wonder if it can autorotate in like a helicopter??? If it can, I suspect that an engine out immediately shuts down the other one. Even in level flight and with the big double rudders, I'd hate to try anything with a single engine. Talk about asymmetry!!! Hmmm - with all that mass in the blades, if it can autorotate in, then it should have quite a bit of energy available for the power to non-power transistion. I had never noticed all the stores available for the Eurofighter. I'm gonna have to look that over some more. It's got so many hard points it looks like it's also desiged for ground attack. A totally superb set of superb aviations photos!!! More! More!! More!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand

I live only a few miles away, you might think the planes are great but they practice for about a month before the show makes my windows shake. By the time the show is on I'm fed up with all the planes. BTW good photo's

Great photography. You need to post a few of these on their own. Love the Fulcrum diving shot. The sunlight hits it beautifully. Super captures.
